ATLANTA, GA — June 30, 2026 — The Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter today announced the appointment of six Georgia residents to its Board of Directors, strengthening the organization’s leadership with individuals who bring both professional expertise and deeply personal connections to the Alzheimer’s and dementia journey.
The newly appointed board members include Atlanta residents Christie Etheridge Diez, Jahna Jones, Andrea Lucas, and Jamie Saunders, as well as Coastal Georgia residents Steve Lowry of Skidaway Island and Wanda Colon-Mollfulleda of Pooler.
Each of the new members shares a strong commitment to advancing the Association’s mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, while enhancing care and support for all affected. Andrea Lucas is currently living with younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease, providing a critical and invaluable perspective to the Board’s work. The remaining five appointees have each experienced the disease through the loss of a parent, giving them firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by caregivers and families navigating dementia.
“Bringing together leaders who have walked the Alzheimer’s journey—whether as a person living with the disease or as a caregiver—ensures our Board remains deeply connected to the needs of the community we serve,” said Clay Jacobs, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter. “Their insight, compassion, and dedication will help guide our efforts to expand access to care, support, and education across Georgia.”
The addition of these six individuals reflects the chapter’s ongoing commitment to representing diverse perspectives from across the state and to elevating voices that understand the realities of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
As Board members, Diez, Jones, Lucas, Saunders, Lowry, and Colon-Mollfulleda will support strategic initiatives, community outreach, fundraising efforts, and advocacy programs aimed at improving the lives of the more than 188,000 Georgians living with Alzheimer’s and the thousands more serving as caregivers.
The Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter provides free resources, including a 24/7 Helpline (800-272-3900), educational programs, support groups, and care consultations for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
