This holiday season, two Christmas tree fundraisers brought communities together in Citrus and Hernando counties — raising critical funds for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Do What You Love to End Alzheimer’s® initiative while spreading joy and awareness.

Community members gathered at Life Care Center of Citrus County in Lecanto, FL to stroll through a winter-themed display of beautifully decorated Christmas trees donated by local partners, enjoy holiday entertainment and refreshments, and bid on their favorite trees to take home.
A similar holiday fundraiser at Oak Hill Senior Living in Hernando County demonstrated the power of community creativity and generosity. The celebration raised funds for the Hernando County Alzheimer’s Walk scheduled for Feb 21, 2026 to benefit Do What You Love to End Alzheimer’s.

Together, both events raised more than $2,200! Efforts like these help the Alzheimer’s Association Florida Gulf Coast Chapter provide education, care and support for families while advancing critical research toward a future without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
