Walk to End Alzheimer’s: 3 Reasons to Join a Walk Near You

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings together Floridians from across the state for a single cause: to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. From late September through early December, Walk events take place in communities from Miami to Pensacola and everywhere in between. But why should you join?

  1. Find strength in others. Each Walk brings together families, friends and colleagues who have been impacted by Alzheimer’s or other dementia. With more than 580,000 Floridians living with the disease and 800,000 serving as their caregivers, each event serves as a place of strength and support in the community. Don’t miss the promise garden ceremony and raise a flower in honor of your loved one.
  2. Fund research, care and support services. We can’t get to a cure without vital research. Thanks to donations from Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the Alzheimer’s Association is able to fund more than 32 active projects in Florida and more than 920 globally. Locally, funds help the Association support communities through outreach and program initiatives, the 24/7 Helpline at 800-272-3900 and advocacy efforts.
  3. Learn about local resources. Each Walk to End Alzheimer’s event hosts a variety of local businesses that support Alzheimer’s and other dementia through the lifespan. Arrive early and stop by booths for information on local support services, programs and resources available to you and your loved one.

None of this would be possible without the support of businesses in your backyard. Thank you to our Presenting, Elite and Premier sponsors for going the extra mile.
